Not another "you and me against the world flick.."



That was my initial reaction when I heard of the film "Can this be Love?" which stars Korean sensation(at least that's what people say) Sandara Park and grand questor, Hero Angeles. I had no plans whatsoever of watching it until... oh nevermind how it happened,, the bottomline is:
I did watch it.

Funny how realistic the storyline is..especially in our society today. Differences pretty much settles our fate. Race, nationality, gender, status in life and age are just a few of the things that must first be taken into consideration before one can be given permission to call such a relationship as "acceptable."

Then again,, what is the society's notion of "acceptable?" The usual normal thing which is free from scandalous remarks from the Catholic Church? Nothing disgraceful to the family's polished and priceless status? This marks the very evident dividing line between the white and black, caucasian and asian, rich and poor...heterosexuals and homosexuals when it comes to love.

I know a number of successful stories which bore this "you and me against the world" thing but then again,a number also didn't survive the fight. Lucky for those who made it but I can't help but think how could one accept defeat and finally give up knowing that everything with the mere exception of what they feel about each other is not just at their side. How could one go on if every face you see casts judgmental glances and keeps on whispering behind your back only knowing fully well that you can hear them?

drat.. lucky for those who have the ultimate amount of positivity on the coarse path of love. For those not so lucky,,, you can always say "next!" anytime.harhar.

"Can this be love" is a so-so flick with a not so interesting storyline and cast as well. Still, it gave me an idea for a post so with not so much as a nod from me,,,

go ahead, watch it.=)
